Elon Musk and Steve Jobs

We all miss Steve Jobs.

He was one of the greatest thinkers, innovators, businessman and disrupters of our time. Most people will agree that he had a great hand in terms of getting great technology and beautiful design together in the right mix. He created Apple and the company continues to carry his legacy in terms of his taste in design, innovation and building a business that people will come to love.

Well, it’s hard to beat that. No one can surely say who can beat Steve Jobs in his own arena, but someone might have the chance to do so. That person is Elon Musk, the innovator, industrialist and the real life “Iron Man” of this generation. He definitely has a nice resume and it’s a profile that is more interesting than most people that I know.

A quick biography of Elon Musk is available on Wikipedia. Elon Musk is born on 28 June 1971, who is a South African American entrepreneur and inventor best known for founding SpaceX, and co-founding Tesla Motors and PayPal, which is initially known as X.com. While at those companies, he oversaw the construction of the first electric car of the modern era, the Tesla Roadster, a private rocket known as Falcon 9/Dragon, and the Internet payment system PayPal.

While Steve Jobs full name is Steven Paul Jobs, is born on February 24, 1955 was an American entrepreneur and inventor best known as the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. Through Apple, he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields, transforming one industry after another, from computers and smartphones to music and movies.

Jobs received a number of honors and public recognition for his influence in the technology and music industries. He has been referred to as “legendary”, a “futurist” or simply “visionary” and has been described as the “Father of the Digital Revolution” and “master of innovation” and a “design perfectionist”. There are many similarities in terms of the aspirations and potential of both Steve Jobs and Elon Musk which one can observe. Both men have the strong desire to lead a generation, not just a company, but to lead a generation involving culture of the whole world, at least in their respective fields of interest.

Elon Musk is currently the CEO and Chief Designer of SpaceX, CEO and Product Architect of Tesla Motors and Chairman of SolarCity. Musk holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the The Wharton School, and a second bachelor’s degree in Physics from University of Pennsylvania, School of Arts and Sciences.

So, what happens now in our time, it’s very exciting to have the sense of hope that great people continue to do great things. Not just Elon Musk, but everyone else who is doing their part in whatever size, shape or ways that they are proud of. Whatever your passion is, make your own way to be the next Steve Jobs and Elon Musk. Perhaps, in a very small way, when you try, then you already are. And when you do, you mark your own name for others to follow too.
