What’s Your Story?
Before I start, I always look at life in both professional and private as a form of a story. A narrative that has a beginning and an ending. It’s not as important to know when and where I start but the destination and the journey that I could share with you. So this is my humble story of my life and I am glad that I have the pleasure to share it with you.
This blog is dedicated solely to the community who is passionate about the Internet, startups, business, success and stuffs of inspiration. Occasionally, I also share my random ramblings about certain issues including my personal journey in entrepreneurship.
– Here is a written background profile of me:
Darren Lee spearheads Intrivent Global – an Internet R&D company that won many awards in 2007 that brought his team to half way across the world from Geneva to Philippines. Some of his prominent involvement in ICT includes being selected as an official candidate for the 2007 UNGAID Youth and ICT Forum in Switzerland and other projects such as collaboration with UNICEF to launch a web portal for urban youth or even leading the content development team for Xfresh – the online teen community brand when he was in ASTRO. He is also currently pursuing other promising Web 2.0 projects. He is currently based in Asia where he can easily travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, while at the same time he hangs out with the valley community in San Francisco at events such as TechCrunch50.
Darren Lee holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Computing majoring in Internet Technology from University of Staffordshire. Also, his work experiences span from the marketing line to being a professional trainer; and finally spent about four years in one of Asia’s biggest satellite media broadcasting company at ASTRO.
In Astro, Darren Lee led the content development team for Xfresh, a teen community brand initiated by AMP Radio Networks. Back then, Xfresh was a dynamic brand that had multiple media platforms such as Xfresh Online (the official teen community website), Xfresh FM (the official radio station that supports 100% local music), Xfresh TV (a teen review show on Astro), Xfresh Street Surfers and Xfresh Mobile. During his service at Xfresh, Darren Lee was there to assist and advocate contacts and branding initiatives to deliver high impact results for the Xfresh Group.
Darren Lee had also contributed his expertise with a digital media company involving new media projects that handles Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) business and mobile content applications.

- Nominated winner for “What’s your Big Idea?” contest organized by Astro to support the company about the fortitude of media broadcasting. His television show idea was taken into production on Astro AEC TV channel
- Appeared on Xfresh TV to speak about a segment on websites
- Interviewed and featured by local magazine “i-Remaja” to talk about his experiences and topic about websites
- Featured Speaker for Marketing to Youths Conference, 29-30 September 2005, JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
- Interviewed on RTM for World’s Children’s Day, 15th December 06, regarding his Youth Program with UNICEF as Project Manager
- Interviewed and featured by local newspaper “TheStar” to talk about challenges in his entrepreneurial journey – 2007
